Hi and welcome from chilly Australia. I used to visit Brighton years ago and have many fond memories.
If you are looking for a way to re-use materials to make a quilt of your top, you could just use an old blanket as batting and an old sheet for the back? As for how to finish off the blocks, I prefer to impose a little bit of structure on craziness and square them off with a little border, but that it not to everyone's taste! Don't forget to post photos- we all love to see each other's work. |
Welcome from Canton, GA

hey, parlyparty! nice to meet you. i'm from pennsylvania, usa.
once you have your blocks sewn together you can recycle sheets--i should think flannel for batting and cotton or even cotton/polyester blend for backing. if you need a thicker/warmer quilt how about a stained (but clean) blanket as batting. you've got me thinking green here and wondering if there is a company that makes recycled batting? |
