Hi--I just registered on the board but I've been lurking for a couple of months. I have done very little quilting in the past. I used to do a lot of machine sewing but stopped about 5 years ago to switch to paper crafting.
I thought I was "safe" going with a friend to a quilt show but darn if it didn't tempt me to buy a hexagon kit, LOL! I have been making hexes like crazy and made a Halloween centerpiece for my cousin--all by hand! I'm attaching some pics of the WIP--I will have to search for the pics of the final product that I gave her! My next project I am working on are more hexes to make a Queen size quilt! That should last me quite awhile (If I ever finish it, haha!) Flowers Hexes |

Hi and welcome from Napa Valley Calif! Love the hexagons. I have the plastic template things but haven't spent any time with them. Saw the paper ones last year at Pacific International Quilt Show. I get inspired but so far too many other projects going on. One of these days... Can't wait to see how yours turns out. Keep going.

I am making hexagons, too, only I haven't sewn many hex's into a circle yet. I just have a plastic see-through shoe box full of just the hex's I've sewn together. Can't seem to make up my mind what pattern I want to make, or how big, or what colors. But, at least it uses up my scraps and keeps my fingers busy while I am watching TV at night. |
I'm working on a hexi quilt also, called Grandmother's Flower Garden. I'm trying to mine as a quilt as you go. Welcome to this great board.
