I have been reading for several weeks now-I guess getting up the nerve to call myself a quilter. I have made 3 full size quilts-and gave them all away. I made a Memory quilt for my son's graduation (which I think was my best work); another as a wedding gift with photos of the bride and groom from birth to engagement; and another graduation quilt for a dear friend (which I think was the prettiest). I will try to get pics online. I remember quilting around a frame that was raised and lowered from the ceiling at my grandma's house. Now, I hand quilt some, but have used my machine more since it is more time efficient. Let me say that I have learned so much just reading and look forward to making many new friends!

I already have a stash and plans for at least 5 quilts. After ready about others, I must be well on my way to being passionate about quilting. It is comforting to know I am not alone - thanks for all the warm welcome! I already feel like I belong.

Thanks for the warm welcome-Ireland! How neat that we can converse being so far away. I have been to England and hope to be able to cross the pond again and visit Ireland-that is my dream!

I am originally from Birmingham, Al-but now live in Tuscaloosa County-home of the Crimson Tide! Yea Alabama-ROLL TIDE!

Welcome from central Alabama. Did you cruise out of Mobile? DH and I are hoping to take another later this year.
|
Actually I was awarded the cruise from my employer-we left from Ft. Lauderdale, FL--it was a dream come true--all expenses paid (even excursions off ship). I have also cruised out of Miami-but Ft. Lauderdale was beautiful. We are going to try one out of Mobile next.
|
Wow, what a great employer!
