Have fun shopping but I Recommend you visit a sewing shop that sells machines. They will usually match you up to an appropriate machine to meet your needs.

for a machine, get one with a large throat space. the space in between the needle shaft and the right edge of the machine where your quilt will be pushed through. the larger the better. mine is six inches. nine inches is good but larger if you can get it is better. Welcome from Texas.
