I just found this Message Board and want to introduce myself.
I am born in WA and now live in NM so talk about a climate change. But we love it here. I finally got my sewing room set up to find I need double the room. Oh well. But I got a great idea I will share. You may already know of it. But I took a sturdy 6 ft long folding table and put it up on pvc pipe and raised the table to 1) cut at my level without breaking my back at a lower level & 2) I store fabric below in plastic tubs and sliding drawers hold sewing patterns.
I splurged on a nice sewing table for my machine. (New Home) and a bookcase and now the closet is jammed too. If I could get organized I might accomplish something.
I mainly am a quilterwannabe thus my email address and I do nine patches but at least they match now and I am not off all over the place. I will progress to bigger things in time.
I am a wife of 42 yrs, have 2 sons and 4 grandchildren. Thanks for listening, AlamoAA

Hello, and welcome from Idaho! 42 years married is awesome! I wouldn't call you a quilter wannabe, you are a quilter. You don't have to do fancy patterns to be a quilter. I do a lot of simple ones because I enjoy it!

Welcome. I can assure you that this Board has a wealth of information and knowledgeable people, resources, inspiration, and encouragement. I read it daily. NM....such a beautiful and diverse state. I found some of the most warm and welcoming people in our glorious country in the state of NM, particularly in the conservative southern portion of the state. FYI....Ruidoso has an INCREDIBLE Art and Craft Fair in the summer. I attended several years ago and found amazing things, including weavers of beautfully loomed textiles, quilt makers with their lovely quilts, embroidery, and many other artistic objects to admire and purchase from congenial craftsmen.

You must have suffered climate shock, big time, from the wettest to the dryest, not to mention going from sea level to high altitude. Did you find that brushing your hair exhausted you at first? I did when I moved from the UP of MI to NM. It was culture shock too. Now I will wish you welcome from WV, which is very humid.

Welcome from the middle of the mitten. This is a great site. Enjoy your stay. I have heard of using pcv tubing to make legs longer as long as they are evenly cut. Welcome aboard
