Some one sent me this site and I am going to thank them when I get off of here. I have read some things and this site and it seems like an interesting and friendly place. I have been quilting for about 6 years. Who keeps track of time when you are quilting. Applique is my favorite and I love making crib quilts. I am a member of Kaye Woods internet Quilting Friends. That is where I learned to quilt. With my friends on line and the KW retreats in MO. A couple of years ago we finished off a room for me on the lower level of our Tri level home. I painted it a soft yellow. I love my sewing room. It is also my cats room. He loves that room. My 2 dogs sit at the top of the stairs and watch me sew. They don't like coming down for some reason. Maybe because they were not allowed when they were puppies. I am looking forward to getting to know you all better and learning all I can.

Thanks, the wall hanging is for a friend at the retreat I will be attending in MO next month. I have it quilted now and just need to do the binding.

MI Applique Queen 03-27-2010 02:41 PM

I think I will like it here. The woman I am making the wall hanging for is making one for me for my kitchen. She is making me the Coffee Classics in the McKenna Ryan series. This is so fun.

Hey to all you Michiganers. There's a great shop hop that goes on in April up by the bend in the thumb. My sisters in Newport and Monroe go every year and have a blast. It's sometime around the 22th.

Hello and welcome from Alabama :D

MI Applique Queen 03-28-2010 05:16 AM

Thanks it was a block of the month that I did at my favorite shop. It was so fun to do. I didn't know what I was going to do with it when it was done. It would not fit in my home. A friends saw it at a retreat and loved it. She said it would go great in here livingroom. So she offered to make something for me. I can't wait to see what she is making for me next month at our retreat.

MI Applique Queen 03-28-2010 05:16 AM

MI Applique Queen 03-28-2010 05:18 AM

oldswimmer 03-28-2010 05:31 AM

Welcome from Kearney, Nebraska

I know you will love it here. I love your Standard Poodle! They are such neat dogs. I was a professional groomer in my early life... went to school to learn. I loved doing Standards! Now I am just involved in teaching dog obedience to 4-Hers. Although I had an offer to start grooming again.... we'll see

Anyway, enjoy yourself here.. It is a great place!
Peggy

MI Applique Queen 03-28-2010 06:17 AM

Peggy your dogs look sweet. I am looking into becoming a dog trainer. There are several internet schools I am looking at. I got lots of books and read them then trained Oliver. He is so obedient and well behaved. People often ask who trained him and are surprised when I tell them I did. Do you like dog training or teaching it? I may have one of Olivers half brothers here for spring break. Lyn alos take in dogs and didn't plan on still having a puppy from the last litter. I would love to have him for a week and work with him. I kind of hope she still has him so Oliver and I can play with him.

Oklahoma Suzie 03-28-2010 04:28 PM

It is! I am originally from an hour or so north of here, but moved to Menominee when I met and married my husband. I like it here. We live very near the bay (Lake Michigan) and there is always something going on at the marina/park during the summer- live music, art shows, car shows- and fishing and boating all the time. And a really nice quilt store that I can see from my bedroom window!!! ;0)
