Hello! Welcome from North Central PA. So glad you decided to join us. This is such a great group...so helpful and generous.

I just have to ask....what is "the mitten"? :?:

glad you asked that!! I don't know either! Must be Michigan. By the way, my cousin lives in Ann Arbor, he taught at UM for years.

In Michigan when someone asks where a place is, you hold up your hand and point to the spot on the "mitten".

And if you're in the UP (upper peninsula), you hold your hand crosswise with the thumb facing up. Who needs maps? LOL

Hi and welcome! Quilting will help you get over the "need to teach" feeling. I'm a retired teacher too, and for the first few years I was really pining for my first grade classroom. It's been four years now, and I must say, this is the first year I didn't drool over the school supplies in the store:-) My focus now is fabric, fabric, fabric, and my next project!

I'm still drooling over school supplies. I bought 4 boxes of 24 crayons for 25 cents each. Now what am I going to do with them?
