I'm a retired teacher, too. Retired in Feb. '98. The "more retired" I become, the less I have time to quilt. It just doesn't make sense, does it? After retirement I went wild with committing myself to all kinds of activities and projects, but I never subbed. I did do quite a bit of volunteering at "my school," at a National Trust home site, and at our church. Now I'm slowly shaking loose of some of those little "jobs" so I can have more time for sewing. (I am holding on to a little contract job I do for a few days 3 times during the school year doing some reading assessment with K through 3rd grade students -- it pays enough to buy a little fabric - wink, wink) I still consider myself a beginner, even after so many years, because there are so many things I want to try in quilting. Welcome to the family of QBers from South Louisiana. Plan on spending a lot of time here visiting and learning.
