I am a newbie here, quilt here and there, mostly have done the quilting in the hoop by Hoop Sisters this last year. I want to get into some other type of quilting besides embroidery this winter. I have a Gracie II quilt frame with the Janome 1600P on it. I am making baby quilts for my great grandkids to come. Just finishing the Elvis quilt I have been working on for 2 years. Pic to come. I have 16 grandchildren plus 3 grandchildren in laws, 2 great grandchildren with one in the oven for February. I have been sewing since I was 9, that was 62 years ago (guess how old I am). Looking forward to knowing other sewer/quilters on the boards.

Hi Jan, We have a lot in common. Same age, and I am in the process of making baby quilts for the great grandkids to come. Appears to be long off in the future, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to have them on hand.LOL I use to have neighbors, long ago, by the name of Workman, Any chance you lived in Lexington? Enjoy your time here, it is a really great group.

Welcome from Indiana. I'm also doing a Hoopsisters embroidered quilt. I have done 2 months, and will get the third block this month. It's fun, but I missed the demo for the second month and mine don't look too good. I may do them over if I have enough fabric left at the end.

Which one are you doing. I taught the Crazy Compass bom for 2008, the TNT for 2009 and will be doing the one for 2010.

I'm doing the crazy compass. It will be beautifulwhen I get itdone, but really is complicated, especially getting that point in on the second block. Don't know if I'll doany more after I get this one done or not.

JanWorkman 11-15-2010 11:15 AM

Alice, dont give up on the Hoop Sisters patterns, I feel like the Crazy Compass was one of the hardest. Try the abc or the dresden plate.

Alice Woodhull 11-15-2010 01:45 PM
