Hi from Tucson, Arizona
Hello! I’m Sue from Tucson. We’re in the middle of a heat wave here so I’m inside sewing and quilting! My favorite part of the quilting process is constructing classic quilt blocks and binding.
I’m here looking for inspiration for my YouTube channel “Made By Sue.” I’m recording some tutorials that interest me and hopefully other quilters as well. I’m curious as to what projects quilters are working on so I’ll be sure to spend lots of time reading your project posts. Thank you for having me and Happy Quilting!! 🌵🥰 |
Howdy! Waving hello a safe personal distance away from the Seattle area. Somehow I always end up visiting my friend in the Phoenix area in August -- but being quilters it isn't so bad since we just hide inside all day.
I started just before the rotary revolution and while I do a lot of modern construction techniques, I typically use old school blocks. |
Welcome to the board from Southern Indiana! I'm just a plain quilter...love stack and whack, the kind that is usually made into OBW's, although strangely enough, I don't really care for OBW's. I'm sure you'll enjoy this board!

Welcome from Michigan!:)

welcome from Ky. I jus got back my machines and have to clean them all and get my room in order, but my fav block is a log cabin, and I really love the simple Amish quilts. stay cool and happy quilting!

Nice to meet you, Iceblossom. Seattle this time of year must be wonderful! I really hope I’m replying in the right place...there’s a lot of boxes popping up 😂

Hi and welcome from Southern California where we have the same heat wave. I make mostly art quilts but have been captivated by Dresden Plates for a long time. There's a new book out, called "Distinctive Dresdens" that has inspired me to make a Dresden Plate art quilt. It's exciting to work on something new and creative. And YouTube is wonderful, as is our GB!

Hi Sue, and welcome. You are sure to find many idea for your Utube channel on these boards. ...I will check our your channel. Again Welcome

Welcome to the QB from SE Michigan. I am so glad you are joining us and are ready to jump right in. Currently I am working on a Drunkard's Path. It is Queen Size and all I have to finish is the binding. I have been working on it about 2 months now and am excited I am close to the finish. Of course I can never be working on a single project I have to have 2 maybe 3 things going at one time so I also am working on a table runner using the Bears Paw block I will be doing this as a Quilt As You Go project. I usually have my hands in a quilt or fabrics or some other crafty thing. Right now it is quilting that rules! Again welcome to the QB Jump right in and join the fun!

Hello and welcome!
I have been looking at small projects that are quick and easy. I've already gone through the scrap bins and used pieces for masks. It's time to start Christmas projects so it's always helpful to see more inspiration. Looking forward to your ideas! |
Welcome from South Louisiana. This time of year is a great time to be inside because of the heat outside. Lots of great quilters here and I am always learning something new, which is good because I tend not to follow patterns completely. I like the term "Artistic License".

Hi Sue and welcome to the board from NE Ohio. 🙋♀️

Welcome from Ontario, Canada. Mostly mask making right now for me.

I’ve seen the Dresden Plates but never attempted to make one. I’ll definitely check out the book you mentioned. I actually learned to quilt mainly from books. Thanks for sharing and stay cool! |

I’ll try to post a photo this weekend if I can find them in my phone. I haven’t done any photo postings yet but I’ll give it a try. I’ll look for your posts as well to see what you come up with. Have a great weekend! |

I’m thinking South Louisiana might be a tad more uncomfortable this time of year than here... you know we have a “dry heat.” But the humidity is good for your skin! Stay cool and have a great weekend! |

Welcome to the board from another Arizonan. We were in Phoenix yesterday and it was very warm so I know you are smart to stay inside during this heat. Enjoy quilting and sewing

Hello and welcome from Corpus Christi. I like to make kaleidoscope quilts. I'm currently working on a drunkard's path/kaleidoscope combo. I'm kinda new here, and I use google to learn unfamiliar terms. That's how I learned what DP was. https://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f...s-t178507.html
This is the link to a page full of abbreviations used here. I bookmarked it. |
