I have been browsing through this site for a few months now and love it. I have sewed for years but have only started quilting. My experience has been with clothes including several wedding and christening gowns. I love quilting. I recently made my first quilt for a new niece due any day now. My 9 year old granddaughter wants to learn so we are going to make a quilt together. It is a great way to spend time with this creative little girl. I think we will start off with a wall hanging so she doesn't get discouraged. I really enjoy seeing the work that others put on this site and will add some of my own in the future.

Welcome and congratulations on getting into quilting. I, too, sew clothing although I've vowed NEVER again to do bridesmaid dresses. If your granddaughter is really into dolls she might prefer to make a dolly quilt. That was my first attempt when my older sister taught me to sew on mom's machine.
