Welcome from southeast TX -- keep at it -- I started by using the patchwork method where each big block with border is batted and backed and hand quilted -- then the blocks are machine connected on the front and folded and hand stitched on the back -- thus I made quite a few queen and king quilts -- Now I'm getting more adventuresome and will use fusible batting (although finished quilt will be a little stiff at first)-- spray basting stuff and me don't do well (too big to handle) and pinning and hand basting ...well, not fun. Enjoy your quilting however you do it
