I've been a quilter for many years. We had this great-grandmother, whom I'd never met, had this large bag of quilting pieces completed. No one wanted them, so I was asked if I wanted the bag. I took it, and finished the quilt by following the pattern started. I was hooked as a teenager. I've been making quilts for so long, there is no memory of NOT quilting. The winter months are my favorite for quilting, so I make a top or two during the summer months, and sit with the quilt in my lap in the winter. Sometimes I use a floor frame, other times I use my lap quilt frame. This passion is so strong to quilt, sometimes I cannot believe winter has passed and I've only completed one or two quilts! I get so mentally lost and relaxed when I quilt - helps me think and analyze things in life.

I know what you mean. When I quilt, I tell my family "goodbye" and go to Quiltland! It's silly, but the only person there is me and my quilt and whatever I have playing on my ipod! Time has no meaning in Quiltland and I love it there so much!! I can't wait to clock out and go home and spend my (almost) nightly mini-vacation!
