Howdy

I'm just learning to quilt, and re-learning how to sew after many years. At the same time, I'm getting vintage machines... and at the moment I'm trying to figure out how to get my vintage machine into a vintage cabinet. I've got everything figured out except how to run the cords.
Y'all seem like a nice bunch of folks.

Welcome to Quilting Board. Perhaps if you post pictures of the machine and the cabinet in the Vintage section of the forum https://www.quiltingboard.com/vintag...thusiasts-f22/ someone may be able to help. Lots of people have trouble posting pictures, so I have made a standard reply on how to post pictures --

We like pictures. In order to post pictures on Quilting Board, you will probably need to reduce or compress the picture to a file size that is smaller than 2MB. How to post images can be found at https://www.quiltingboard.com/attach...020-01-17-.pdf
Don't forget to scroll over to the far right to find and click on the "Upload" button.

I have found that only the big red "Reply" button or "Quote" work to give me the paper clip icon to work for adding pictures.

Some additional info regarding reducing images at post #4 and images for the scroll and upload button can be found at #5 of https://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f...d-t312607.html

Another way to post pictures can be found at https://www.quiltingboard.com/showpo...postcount=1143
And how to use an ipad to post pictures can be found at https://www.quiltingboard.com/qb-hel...s-t318147.html

Or simply - Make sure pictures are smaller than 2MB
Click on red "Reply" button
Click on the paper clip icon
Click browse - choose picture/s. (only 5 allowed per post)
Once they show up as being loaded, Scroll over to the right side and click on "Upload"
After the pictures show up as being attached, you can close that window and go back to the screen to finish posting your post.

Janey - Neat people never make the exciting discoveries I do.

Thank you, OurWorkbench, for the useful information! It could have taken me months to figure all that out. Even with your instructions, I only saw the Quick Reply button for this reply... and now I see that big red thing! I found a work-around for the cords. I'll try to get in situ pix this week-ish and post in the vintage area.
I'm happy to be here.

Welcome to the QB from So. CAL! Vintage machines are so nice. I have the Singer 15-91 that was given to my mother for a wedding present in 1950. I learned to sew on it in 1962 and love it. Then I was gifted a treadle machine that belonged for my Great Aunt May. She bought it new in 1925 from Montgomery Wards. It works great, and luckily had several bobbin spindles and the instruction book. It has several attachments but I haven't really done anything with them.
