Hi, I am new to Quilting Board, but I have been working on and with quilts most of my life. My grandmother pieced quilts and even did quilting for the Mountain Mist company for quilts they displayed at shows many, many years ago. Then my mother was very active in makng quilts all of my life. So I have grown up with them and love them. I am looking forward to seeing others quilts and learning new things.

Hello, welcome from Oklahoma!!!

Bobbielinks -- I doubt that. Been around the quilting and have worked with them, but not one that tries things that are very difficult. I usually do the beginner or easy patterns.

Thank you!

Thank you all for the warm welcome.

Welcome to the Quilting Board from Nevada! What a wonderful thing, a third generation quilter. You should be proud of that. It doesn't matter, as you said in a later post, that you only quilt "easy" quilts. What matters is that you have the basics of quilting down now. If you can make an "easy" quilt, then it's not much of a step to an "intermediate" quilt. With solid basics in hand, it just takes a bit more time and patience. It's likely you already have the skills, and if a question pops up, well we're right here to help. Hopefully the Quilting Board will prompt more ideas and patterns to entice you towards developing new skills and enthusiasm for quilting. And it's a two way street. There are Newbies here who are struggling to make that first "easy" quilt, and you can be of assistance to them, I'm sure.
This is a fun place to visit. You learn lots of new techniques and quilting tips. And you may be surprised at how much you have to offer. Welcome aboard! |
