Hello! I think I found my home away from home here! I began quilting when I was very young. My great grandmother quilted...she made beautiful but simple quilts. I used to help her do yarn knots while the quilt was stretched out on a quilt frame. It was my favorite part...getting to the finished project!
When she passed away no one was around to teach me more or carry on traditions. Others in my family sewed but didn't quilt. I re-introduced myself to quilting when someone donated a whole cloth quilt to my ministry for expecting and adopting families. I looked at it and said,"I can do that!" So with a child's plastic sewing machine I made my first quilt! The next thing you know my hubby gets me a new machine for my birthday! That was three years ago and I am learning more and more each project. I am in love with the Elm Creek Quilts novels...brilliant! I want to live inside the books! They inspire me to learn more about quilting. So here I am, looking for friends with who run around with pins in their mouths and scissors in their hands! race car lovie with "super" burp cloths and handmade card |

Sunny here but the rain is due in tonight again. This has definitely been a long winter and cold spring!
Normally I would be expecting the first batch of 100 degree F temps about this time - just in time to go out on our first camping trip of the season. So guess I'll just have to stay inside and quilt! |
