Hi everyone, I'm new to the message board and would like to introduce myself. I am a retired grandmother of 2 handsome little boys. I love to quilt, sew and knit. I just finished hand quilting a quilt that my great grandmother hand pieced. She gave it to my mother when she got married in 1942. It is a real treasure and I enjoyed making it my winter project and snuggling under it as I quilted. Some cold evenings I think I snuggled more than quilted. :D Now if I can just find the name of the pattern. Thank you for letting me be a part of this message board.

I've always seen it referred to as the 6 pointed star, or the 60 degree diamonds star. To me, it's clearly a Jewish Star, but when you look up different Star of David patterns, you get a whole variety of designs. I did find this Amish quilt where they refer to it to the same way. http://www.amishcountrylanes.com/Pages/wh4237.shtml Maybe someone with a Brackman book can look it up (I can't find mine right now). |
