My name is Joyce finch. I live in Northern California in the mountains. I am retired (6 years now) and decided I wanted to learn to quilt. I signed up here and am learning all the lingo, plus how to avoid a lot of errors. I bought a baby quilt kit. It has all the fabric, but I will have to cut it and put it together. Then I bought a rotary cutter, cutting mat, acrylic 24 inch ruler, the batting and some thread. I am now ready to start on my baby quilt. Now to find some time. I do a lot of fund raising for charities, I do family tree stuff, search for bio families for adopted adults, and a lot of other hobbies, plus I work a couple of days a week.
I am real anxious to start quilting since you guys wrote how relaxing it is. Thanks for all the advise.
Joyce

I tried just staying home, but it was too boring. I like being around people and helping them. but I like making things and think I will really like quilting.

Thanks all of you for the warm welcome.
