Hi, I'm Claire and a long time quilter, knitter, etc. When I was a child (mid-1930s) I had a fabulous quilt on my bed: blue border and white background, both quilted with the shape of the applique. The applique itself consisted of flower pots with tulips of all colors coming out of them. If anyone has seen such a pattern, or even has one, I'd be delighted to hear from you.
Thanks, [email protected] |

Welcome. Check the library, they sometimes have quilt history books and the pattern or at least a picture may be in there. I looked to see if I had one in my old patterns but I guess I got rid of a lot of stuff when I had to move. :-(

Hello from Western Mountain Maryland !! :-D
|
It sounds like it might have been made from one of the kits that were popular then. You might google Kansas City Star. It was a newspaper that ran quilt patterns.

It sounds like it may have been made from one of the kits that were poppular then. You might try googling Kansas City Star quilot patterns. That was a newspaper that was famous for the quilt patterns they gave away or sold very inexpensively.

Hello Claire. I have this pattern but don't think it's from the 30's. You might try Google, University of Nebraska Quilt Museum to do a search.
|
Try your public library because they always have a lot of quilting books. Good looking.
