I can't help you with the mesh, but I just wanted to welcome you to the QB:)

If you are looking for fine mesh, goo to a sign shop and ask for banner mesh it's vinyl and not very expensive.

I used pet screen from Home Depot but I'm not sure that's what you are looking for :)

Welcome to the quilting family....I use Pet screen from Home Depot. It only come in Black There are 2 types at Home Depot you should get the heavy one. The light weight will not last very long when you use it. You can get the colors at a quilt shop or go on line. there are some pretty colors out there.
