Hi from MS. I love to machine embroider and belong to several sites that digitize quilting designs. Also, there are sites that show how to "quilt in a hoop". Just search for embroidery groups on yahoo.
Welcome to your new "addiction"!! |

Welcome from rainy Ohio!
My website is all about combining machine embroidery with quilting --- that's what I do every day! You're welcome to pour a cup of coffee and look around there, and you'll see where other people get there patterns for their quilts, or just the embroidery designs that I have digitized and folks have used..... Nice to meet you! |
Hi, Welcome! I also am doing the quilt blocks with embroidery blocks. Looking forward to new ideas! I will share mine as well.
|
beautiful! May I ask, how you do the quilting, after, or before the emb design? Or is it all an emb design?

I alternated Dear Jane blocks with plain blocks and 'quilted' the plain blocks with outline embroidery patterns from John Deer. The Dear Jane blocks were from an exchange on the Board in Christmas colors, so the embroidery patterns were snowflakes.
I have also used his feather embroideries to quilt blocks in another quilt. I think it works very well. You do not need to use stabilizers, because the quilt sandwich is enough to stabilize the embroidery. It does take more time than 'regular' machine quilting, but I think it's worth it because of the added beauty of the embroidery. You can find a picture of my dear Jane if you search for "My Christmas Dear Jane" |

Hi and welcome from Massachusetts. I have used machine embroidery to quilt my quilts. The last one I did was for my mother. The top was a floral print set on point inside a box. I alternated the floral blocks with a solid color blocks in a coordinating color. I used a solid colored backing. I got a several designs from the "Embroidery Library" They were outine designs. I got a one large on that I used on the solid color blocks and a smaller one for the sashing and border. She puts to floral side up in the summer and the back up in the winter. The backing is solid maroon and the embroidery design looks like snow flakes. I hope this makes sense. It's hard to decribe.
