For only $40.00, I would definitely take the class!

Welcome to the board.

I've been quilting for a few years and I still love to take classes. You can learn so much from them; little tips and tricks to make things easier. Now after several classes I know there are a couple of teachers at one store that I try to take most of thier classes because I "always" learn more from them. In the beginning especially if you want to do more than just large block quilts you should take classes. When you are doing triangles and such it can be confusing so it's great to get help when needed. Good luck

My first quilt was a twin from a class at my LQS. It really was the best thing, and I'll do another one when get the chance. You learn so much, just from the conversations everyone has.
And welcome!!

Hi and welcome to our board hope you stay a while.

$40 for a beginner class is quite reasonable I think I paid $60 for mine. We had an excellent instrutor that walked you through everything including cutting properly. She always tells you the "proper" way of doing things and then she'll show us "short cuts" to do the same process. If I hadn't of taken the class I probably would have given up on my own out of frustration.

Before too long you'll be like the rest of us with a big "stash" of fabric. Other good place to check out on our board is the section to sell stuff. Lots of great fabric for a fraction of the cost at the quilt stores.
