Like someone else said - the chance to meet other quilters is worth the money. But also be careful - don't get talked into buying a bunch of stuff.

That is very reasonable and I would definately take a class first. You won't be sorry and you will be much happier with your sewing and quilting. Even a rotary cutting class was very helpful to me. I also like taking the class on borders. Anything that has to do with the cutting and construction is very worth while.

Thanks for all of your advice> I will be taking the class as Im not really sure as to what I'm doing. I have made 2 twin quilts at my Mother-In_laws instance when I can barley sew 2 pieces of fabric together and I'm not happy with the results. This next time I want to know the proper way to do it so it won't take me another 2 yrs to finish the project. And I'm not real keep on tying all the corners together with yarn,that was not fun. None of the books I have read said anything about that I just followed her instructions.

That price for a class is very reasonable. About your machine, are you familiar with it so you will know how to set it up for the class? some people take a class to learn to quilt, but they haven't spent enough time getting to know things about their machine. The person teaching the quilting class doesn't have the time to help with that. Just thought I would mention this because I have taken classes and some people can't follow along because they don't know how the machine works. I hope you understand what I'm getting at.
