Taking a class will give you the confidence to carry on and tackle a quilt on your own. And $40 is very reasonable

I think taking a class to get started in quilting is an excellent idea. Some of us had moms, grandma's and aunties, who taught us, some of us learned by doing. I would love to take a class someday. Have fun and don't forget to post your quilt for us to ooh and aah over. Above all, remember to have fun.

Welcome, Orcalover, and yes, the price is right for the class. If no one tells you that you can't, you can do anything! So if you want a quilt for your bed, and you are patient, have quilting friends and teachers from class, you can do a full size quilt. Just be patient, and follow instructions. Good luck on your first venture, and be sure to show us what you do. God bless.

I did some checking with my local shop and the teacher said that if I brought my machine in with me before the classes start that she would help me to set up the machine and make sure I know how to work with it. She seems really nice. She said I should take her sewing 101 class which all the students really know nothing and she starts from the begining. How to thread the needle, how to fill a bobbin. She said she teaches the class as if we were all in first year home ec. I will be taking this class first I think it is worth the 10.00 for 2-3 hours of her time.
