I am about 3 hours away however my teenage daughter is living there at the moment. I will be making at least 2 trips a month there starting in a week.

thegypsy1968 10-08-2010 07:59 AM

Awwh gonna make me tear up! Honestly time spent here is so much better and worth more to me than an hour of therapy away from home. Thank you so much for the warm Hello!

Oh you must be way up north to be 3 hours from Bennington and still be in Vermont ;)

I ask because I live really close. No good LQS in Bennington but the Dear Jane quilt is currently on Display in the Bennington museum. Not for long though, the exhibit for this year ends Oct 14. Then it will be put away again until next year.

I have not had the pleasure of seeing this festival of quilts as of yet. I was told about something like this that happens every year at St. Michael's college in Burlington. Is that the one you are referring to? Again thanks so much for making me feel welcome. ;)

thegypsy1968 10-08-2010 08:03 AM

I was told about a shop called The Scarlett Creation in Bennington?..Ever heard of it or been there?

thegypsy1968 10-08-2010 08:05 AM

OMG! That is awesome! Thank you! You all are so nice! It is much appreciated!

No, The Dear Jane quilt (aka Jane Stickle quilt) is an amazing quilt from the civil war. Many here have gotten together to recreate it with jaw droppingly beautiful results. Here is a link
