Welcome from IL! Great post, yes to make a quilt for someone else is only manageable if you really love the person. I am working on a quilt for a family member and it will be my second large quilt project and I do all handwork (piecing and quilting) but they are worth it. Hope you meet your deadline. Looking forward to pictures.

Wow, a chef and then a realtor .... you need a hobby that makes you think about other things and takes you away from those jobs. Welcome to the Board. If you can be a chef and then a realtor, surely you can sew/quilt. You probably have all the skills needed to organize and create. Good luck!

Welcome to the board from southeastern PA. You are a brave man for attempting to make a quilt that large and have it done by Valentines Day. Good luck to you, and do not feel afraid to ask questions here. There are a lot of extremely talented quilters on this site and I have gotten many great ideas from them. Can't wait to see pictures!!

Love your mise en place reference! I'm sure that skill is helping you organize this large project. Keep us posted.
