Welcome from Coastal Georgia. I went to high school in Indy, and have folks in Terre Haute. What I have found over the years of learning how to quilt is practise and start the next project!

My only problem with online video tuts is the fact that our internet is sooo slow that they load a syllable at a time. I have taught myself many things out of books, but the language and jargon with quilting just leaves me a little confused.

Try and watch all the quilting and sewing shows you can
find. Good ones are Sewing with Nancy, Fons and Porter
Alex Anderson. My first quilt I used a Eloner Burns
pattern for an Irish Chain. I did pretty well. Start out
simple with squares. Just dive in practice makes perfect.
