Welcome to the board. I like you was lucky to get to use and electric typewriter in typing class at school. We got to use it in one week rotations, with 30 plus in the class that was not very often. I have had my computer less than year, have really enjoyed it after all the challenges of getting it set up and on line. I kept saying at 61 I was to old for a computer. But getting better.

Just ask - we're here!!! I'm from St. Paul. Good day to stay in and sew - it says thunderstorms all day, all night and into tomorrow - Whoopee!!!!!! So long as we don't get water in the basement like we did the last one on the 26th of JUne. I still am not done cleaning up. Well, I'm done cleaning up, I'm just not done putting away. I thought what I don't use anymore, I'll just drag outside, put a free sign on it and let it go at that. It'll be gone in 15 minutes. I found a neat little shelf in the alley with free on it, grabbed it, took it home, cleaned it up and discovered if I fold my fabric just right I can put scads of fabric on the three shelves. I love buying free stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got some fabric for free yesterday at a garage sale. That was fun. Don't know when I will use it, but I will.

Welcome. Edie

Aloha from Hawaii from a former Minnesotan who exchanged snow and cold for warm weather, beautiful ocean views and lots of black lava! Enjoy the board 8-)

Another Hi from a former Minnesotan. I lived in the St Cloud area for nearly 30 years and was born and raised on the Cuyuna Range. I traded bright sunny winters for gray rain, but my grandchildren, son,and DIL are a ray of sunshine.

Welcome from wan NORTH Minnesota. East Grand Forks. I read but I just can't quilt in the summer. It is to short and there is to much to do outside

Shemjo 07-12-2010 07:25 PM

It is still light so late in the evening that far north! I remember vsiting grandparents east of Waubun in the summer when I was a kid, and it never seemed to get dark! I couldn't understand why we were going to bed in the light, and getting up in full sun! But, oh those winters when I lived there, going to school in the first light, and getting home just before dark!

Well, it is 4:48 AM - Tuesday, July 13. There is just a teeny tinge of orange out to the east. It is supposed to be a gorgeous day today today - +86*, sunny. In about 15 minutes or so it will be morning! We judge our days by "Red skies at night, Sailors delight - Red skies in the morning, Sailors take warning." It is going to be a beautiful pink sunrise today. I do my grocery shopping at 6:00 AM on Fridays and come winter it is dark when I leave and almost dark when I get home - then in March we have DST and that makes the rest of March that much more spring-ier! In the winter we have only about 8-9 hours of sunlight/daylight! But the rest of the year it is wonderful! I love Minnesota

Heading out to JoAnn's today - three 50% off coupons and a few penger (money in Swedish) in my pocket and their fat quarters are on sale for 99 cents. Need that for a sampler quilt I am making and will use the 50% off for some backing. I am going with a neighbor two doors up who is just starting to quilt now that she has retired. Good day today! Edie
