Hi I am Amy, I live in Bismarck, North Dakota and made my first quilt in college nearly 20 years ago. I have two young children ages 2 and 5 and a wonderful hubby. I make mostly art quilts that incorporate both contemporary and traditional design elements. I love hand work and beading and have been influenced greatly from crazy quilting. My latest quilt was dontated to the Alliance for American Quilts (http://www.allianceforamericanquilts...iances/gallery) for the 2011 quilt contest and received an honorable mention.

Hi Amy,
I was born in Langdon North Dakota but lived most of my youth in Wisconsin before transplanting to California. Your quilt reminds me of the Northern Lights we used to watch as children. Will never forget riding horses until 10pm at night all the while watching the amazing sky show. And if you have never seen the Milky Way, well.........Welcome to Quilting Board! Bonnie |
I was born in Long Beach, CA and grew up in very northern CA (Yreka) and then SD and now am happily living in ND. :-D
With the quilt I wanted to capture the image of the vast and open plains of ND. For someone who has never been hear it is really an amazing sight to be able to see for miles. |

Hello and welcome. I love your quilt and I love ND. I was born and raised in IL but spent 31 yrs. in ND raising my family. Lived in Mandan for most of those years but am now back in IL
I still get homesick for the hills. Some people think of ND as being nothing but cold and barren but I think it's beautiful. |
