My name is Laura (nickname Mike). I've been quilting since 1988. I belong to a guild in Morris, IL, Pieces From The Heart Quilt Guild. Small but good. Love scrap quilts and batiks are just my all time favorite. Have enjoyed seeing all the pictures posted, but don't expect much from me in that department because I'm totally out of my league with computers and such. Looking forward to making good quilt friends on QB.

Welcome from Peotone IL. DD & I went to your guild's show earlier this year. Many impressive quilts. You all put a lot of work into it.
|
Welcome from Michigan.:)

We try. Going to have our next one in 2013. All new committee, lots of new ideas, should be lots of fun. Does Peotone have a guild? If not, do you belong to one? I know Kankakee has a big guild. Friend of mine belongs to it. I'll tell the guild your comments on the last show. Thanks.

Welcome from Florida!

No, Peotone doesn't have a guild & we don't belong to one. DD (kuseta) & I have "our own little guild " :D . I work such crazy hours & she's so involved with scouts & kids activities that finding time is difficult. We help each other out at times; actually she helps me a lot more than I help her. :D

Thanks. What part of MI? My daughter and her husband go snowmobiling with friends waaaayyy up north.
|
Sometimes those are the best guilds. What quilt shop do you favor? I loved Just Between Friends. That was a great shop. I still miss it. Any shop with batiks is ok with me.
|
Hi, thanks for the welcome. What part of FL? My sister and her husband were in Lorida last year and had been up around Kissimmee (sp). Enjoyed Queen Anne's Lace in Sebring when we were down there last year.

Hi and welcome to the board from Iowa. This is a fun and educational place to be.

Hi and welcome from CT.

I took a class at Top Shelf quite a long time ago. I just don't get over to the Frankfort area much. Guess I need to do a road trip.
|
Wow, what a great welcome from all over. This may be just what I need to get myself back into quilting. My Mom passed last year and she was my cheerleading section when it came to quilting and she would stitch the binding down on my quilts. I've done very little since and just can't seem to get the interest back. But with this kind of welcome here, it may be just what I need. thanks so much all of you.

Welcome neighbor! I'm just on the other side of I55 from you in Braceville.
My LQS of choice is The Fabric Center in Morris, but I also go to the Countryside Village in Braidwood sometimes (small - but OK in a pinch and I like the staff). Will go to Roberts in Joliet if I can't find what I want anywhere else :) Have you been out to the shops in Princeton? There are two, one small, one quite large. We had a QB Meet & Greet in May and 8 or 9 of us met for lunch and LQS shopping. I sent you a PM as well. Sue |

Hey, 1Quilter & Gramajo, Good to see some gals from my old neighborhood. I lived in Crete. We retired 3 yrs ago & now in Mo. I go through Coal City & Peoptone everytime we come up there to visit our kids.
Did not know that Between Friends was closed. Hadn't heard of the shop in Frankfort. But do I miss Roberts!!!. A good friend (deceased) started Roberts into the fabric many moons ago. Remember when they were downtown? Oh have they grown. They were just getting ready to open he new section when we moved & I haven't had time to go see them. Will have to do. 1Quilter48, welcome to the board. You will love all of the gals & guuys on here. I have to warn you though. You won't get as much sewing done now that you have found us. This dang thing is so addictive. Ask me how I know!!!. Welcome & Enjoy, Donna, The Rustic Quilter |
