Welcome to the board. A crazy quilt will be a good place to start since the pieces and stitches can be somewhat forgiving. Can't wait to see it in progress! :thumbup: |
I Greetings from outside Sacramento, CA. If you want to make a crazy quilt, I'd recommend using the foundation method where you sew your fancy fabrics to a foundation of muslin. That way nothing stretches/distorts, the weight of your fancy fabrics don't matter, and it gives you a great stable base for the embellishments/embroidery.

Yo Yo's are a really cute and fun to make. It is a great hand pieced project. My first hand pieced project was a cathedral window. I am in the process of repairing a cathedral window now. She put little circles to cover where the windows meet. The background is an aqua color with white windows and white circles. It is adorable.
