Hi,

I'm new to this board and I am really interested in learning how to quilt. I still need to get my sewing skills down pat since its been years I attempted the sewing machine. I do use a wheelchair, which causes me to sew one handed. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas to help guide the fabric straighter so that I could get an accurate seam? Right now a pedal less machine is not in the budget. Any help would be appreicated. :)
Thanks, April

Hey, I do not have the answers you seek, but I do know if they are out there the people on the QB will come up with them. They are so helpful and kind--I'm sure you will feel at home. Cyd

Welcome from NY...What type of machine? Buy a 1/4 inch guide foot...The guide will help keep it straight while you use your one hand to guide fabric....OH they also sell 3/4 inch guide feet...for bigger seams

Hi, welcome. Don't know where you live, but have you checked to see if there are rehab services that would teach you accomodations? Some areas have them. Check with your doctor and your state services.

a good hint I received is to always look ahead of the needle not right where you are sewing.
