Hi I am new to message board and have not been quilting for long. I have sewed all my life and made all of our clothes when kids were growing up until blue jeans and t-shirts became the thing to wear. I starting quilting about 5 years ago but was still working part time and a lot of junk was going on in my life but things have settled down and I have retired completely and now live with my oldest son and his wife and have a brand new storage building 12x20 that is all my and can sew or what ever and life is wonderful. I have made 4 quilts and have several tops done and several more started it does not take long to get UFO's.

Greetings and Happy New Year from New Hampshire.
You learned fast about piling up UFOs. I've been quilting for 30+ years and have more than my oldest grandson's age (18), including a toddler quilt made from his family's clothing. He's 6'2".

Thanks everyone I love to quilt and do things with my hands I got the Knifty Knitter Looms for Christmas and so am trying something new My sewing room is a portable building and we did not get the heat in so is a little cool in there unless the sun is shining and it just keeps being no sun so do other things in house I crochet and embroidery quilt blocks my first quilt was a embroidery for my 11 years old granddaughter pink and purple butterflies. I am finishing a red and black for my grandson that is finishing high school this year I am going to make the pillow shams also.

Welcome from Southern Indiana. You're certainly right about the UFO's...sometimes mine don't even get far enough to be called a UFO! I do some experimenting, and if I don't like it I toss it in the 'orphan block' box. Someday I may put them all together and make a really, really weird quilt!
