Hi, everyone, I just came across this board while looking for ideas for quilting my current project and am so excited to find a place to connect with other quilters!

I first began quilting when I visited my grandmother in Virginia when I was seventeen. I had no choice but to start a project as I ran around with her from quilt show, to guild meetings, to classes, to informal quilting get-togethers- and I was hooked! I made a little patchwork pillow that first summer, and hand pieced a watercolor wall-hanging the second summer (maybe I'll get on here to ask for ideas for finishing it one of these days!). I still get so nostalgic, thinking back to those summers I spent with my grandmother and her quilting buddies! : )

15 years later, I have a husband and six kids, and we're in the process of adopting our 7th. Our life is busy! So quilting for me has been sporadic, to say the least. My current project is a scrappy log cabin that I started for my husband 10 years (give or take a year or two! lol) ago and have only pulled it out every now and then. Two and a half weeks ago, I got super-motivated and have been banging it out- about halfway through piecing the last border, then this top will be DONE! When it is, I'll post a photo to ask for help with quilting ideas.

Anyway, nice to "meet" you all! I look forward to being inspired and learning a lot! : )

hehe, yes, definitely busy from sun up to sun down- or the kids' bedtime, whichever comes first! ;) So I tend to be an all or nothing quilter- it's either in the closet being ignored for months on end, or I'm doing nothing but! Currently, I've been a little hyperfocused on this log cabin top for the past 2 and a 1/2 weeks- it's so *close*! : )

Thanks again, everyone, for all the welcomes! I'm already having fun on here. : )
