newbie with a question :)

i'm pretty new to quilting and only really know the basics. my question is about finishing my quilt... i know how to use store-bought binding to finish the edges, but i want to fold over the backing to finish the quilt. i've seen it done and i like how it looks. i don't care if i do it by machine or by hand. any info you can give me would be great.

i've only browsed around this site a little, but everything people make here is beautiful :)

Hi and welcome from New York. Check out YouTube for fold over binding. I tried to copy the link but it didn't work.

I cut strips 2.5" wide, fold them in half, press and attach to the quilt, fold over and stitch. Welcome to this wonderful site from Coos Bay, Oregon

:) welcome from se TX -- selfbinding does work, but don't let it be too thick or too wide!
