Hello everyone. I am a 55 year old wife and mother who has recently developed a serious addiction to quilting. Three years ago I suffered a massive heart attack and had to give up my career as a school principal. I spent two years wandering around the house looking glum and then my husband signed me up for a quilting class. The rest, as they say, is history! Unfortunately, none of my friends have yet discovered the same passion and so it sometimes gets lonely here in the middle of Canada. And now, imagine my delight to discover an on line group of people who love quilting and seem so darned friendly and helpful. I am looking forward to making lots of new friends...via cyber space!

Hello from Ontario. Used to live in Saskatoon. Have you been to Periwinkle's on 8th? There is a guild in town, and they should be able to give you information about it. Great way to connect with other quilters. If you bring your friends along to meetings, it just might get them hooked.

Looks like your hubby had a grand idea. He will pay for it for a looooong time, lol. Greetings from Sacramento California.

Hi there! Welcome from Delaware! Quilting has you hooked, and watch out- this board is addictive too- It's like a quilt show everyday, and a lot of interesting commentary, too. I had to reply cause my bro in law grew up in Saskatoon, and just because of that it's on my "travel bucket list." The world is such an interesting place, you know. We've made it to all 48 contiguous states and Ontario, Quebec, and BC. Anyway, WELCOME to Quiltersville! It's a state of mind :)

Welcome from New Mexico. I also am home and can't work, and quilting is my refuse. No one down here quilts either, so I love this board, and have met some really nice people on here. My only problem with this board, is that they know so much, and I want to do so many of the things that they talk about and show you how to do. I'll never live long enough to get all the projects done that I really would like to. I'd have to live to be 200.

Well Hello from Elrose Saskatchewan...I hear what you are saying about your friends not having the quilting bug...I live far far away from anyone who quilts or even sews...I have one lady about 22minutes from me but thats about it....maybe sometime when I am in Saskatoon we could meet for coffee...I'm a big Tim Hortons fan :D . Relax, enjoy and most of all have fun...This group is my quilting family for sure....

Hello and welcome from Boston, Ma. Many years ago( probably in 1980) I was traveling by car from Seattle Washington to Bosotn, Ma and spent a weekend or night in Saskatchewan during one of your major town celebrations. At first some people were kind of stand offish to me once they knew I was from the states, but this group of young ones near my age, took me under their wings and we all celebrated together with them taking me to parties etc. I have great memories of that celebration and tried to keep in contact with the friends I made there but we eventually lost contact.
