Welcome to the QB from North Carolina :) You'll love it here.
How right you are....I hate finding patterns with mistakes in them....or worse yet, I don't find them till it's finished  |
I agree.. I do't do patterns.. I prefer my own designs, and sometimes make changes as I go..

I agree. I just did one, a kit, and it neglected to tell you how wide to cut the strips, and there were three different width of strips required. Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy!

Welcome to the board from Southern California!!!

Welcome!! I agree with you -- folks should be more careful when they write directions and they should always have someone else make the quilt. I recently bought a very expensive (for me) book on making handbags. Every pattern in the book skipped steps at an important point in the description. This is one reason why I rarely use patterns -- I draft my own and work out the construction myself and save the $$.

Good morning and welcome from Illinois. Have fun and enjoy and yes, it is very frustrating to find mistakes in a purchased pattern. Did you contact the pattern maker and complain and point out the mistake(s). My friend had that problem working on a block of the month from McCall's Quilting Magazine and she contacted them and the next month, they posted a correction and also emailed her the corrected pattern.

Hi and welcome from Michigan.

Hi, Welcome -
I share your frustration at patterns that have mistakes and/or are poorly written. It's especially sad/bad for a beginner that thinks the fault is his/hers - and not in the pattern. |
