A little about me. I have been sewing for a while, when a health issue arose. I've had both thumb joints replaced and now I have difficulty hand quilting, and machine was difficult as well. My husband bought me a Juki QVP quilter and I am able to quilt again!! Yeah, I can't get enough quilting. I am from Indiana. Is there anyone else from Indiana???

Hello, welcome from Nevada!

Congratulations on your new QVP. The dealer who sold you the machine should be well versed in helping you fix any issues. I am considering the same machine so I would love to hear what you think of it so far.
I have a Juki TL98Q which sometimes does not like certain threads. I was having shredding issues with Superior SoFine using a 90 titanium top stitch needle (bought from Superior). I switched to some rayon embroidery thread and had no problem. I did not try any of my other SoFine thread. I should try that.. lol.
Please, do share your experience with the QVP though... I'm on pins and needles here. :)

Dont be afraid to adjust your tension both top and bottom. Here is a GREAT video to learn how:

very imformative and it works every time!! Im not afraid to adjust my tension on my longarm at all now.

Taking the stress out of Longarm tension

Meant to also mention that same goes for domestic machines

Thanks queenopearls, I was afraid to adjust the tension, but took a deep breath and began. The bobbin thread is great now and the top thread is still coming down to the bottom of my practice piece. I know it is the thread tension and I must adjust it some more. I no longer have shredding , or skipped stitch issues. I am currently using Signature 40 wt, all cotton thread. I am going to get some thread from the Superior thread site, probably the King Tut or Bottom Line or maybe try both. So far I love my Juki. It is much fun and easy to use. Mine came with instruction CD. Hope this is helpful, any more questions, let me know. Thanks for the link to adjustion the tension, Suebee.
