I don't know anything about Megaquilter, but welcome to the board!
I'm not sure from your post whether you are new to the board or new to the board and new to quilting. If you search the board you will probably find some advice/info on the various sewing/quilting machines available. |
Welcome from NE Ohio. Sorry I can't help with a machine, but I'm sure you'll lots of informative info. Good luck.

My church had the Viking Mega Quilter for 6 years and it never worked correctly. The sales people worked on it many times but it just never worked. Are you planning to have it on a frame? If you are, each time you roll the quilt you have less and less quilting space, as little as 4 inches! I'd be very wary of this machine!

Welcome from South Louisiana. I have an older Nolting with a 24" throat, that is a workhorse. Wish I had a computerized one, but maybe someday in the future.

I would recommend the Bailey(http://www.bhqlongarm.com/), I have a few friends that have them and they're all very happy with them. When I have the room and the money, a Bailey is what I'll be getting.
As far as the Mega Quilter, I had the 9" machine and didn't have anything but problems with it, finally said, give me my money back. I don't have any experience with the 18" Mega Quilter but I do agree, 9" isn't much space. |
Welcome from western NY and happy quilting :)

Hello Sherri, welcome from northern California!

hi, I am also new. Been looking at the beautiful quilts and getting ideas. I have the Viking megaquilter and frame. I have never had any issues with the machine. It has run like a champ. The biggest issue is the limited 9 in neck. I have been reading about the Bailey's and would live to hear from others that have been using one. I drool over the new 20 in and the 17 inch. But wonder if I can use my existing 10 ft frame? Thanks everyone.
Melinda. And if anyone in the GA area has one, I would love to see it in action! |
Greetings, Sherri. I, too, am from Idaho, Filer to be exact, 8 miles west of Twin Falls. Both my children and grandchild live in Boise. Son works at Alliance Title and daughter and her husband live in Idaho City and both of them work in Meridian. Granddaughter just started her first year of college at BSU. Hope you enjoy Idaho, wish we could move to Boise to be closer to them, but I'm not seeing that that's going to happen. The weather tonight is rain, fog moving in and a bit colder than it has been for the last week. Come on Spring!!!
