I don't know anything about Megaquilter, but welcome to the board!
I'm not sure from your post whether you are new to the board or new to the board and new to quilting.
If you search the board you will probably find some advice/info on the various sewing/quilting machines available.

My church had the Viking Mega Quilter for 6 years and it never worked correctly. The sales people worked on it many times but it just never worked. Are you planning to have it on a frame? If you are, each time you roll the quilt you have less and less quilting space, as little as 4 inches! I'd be very wary of this machine!

I would recommend the Bailey(http://www.bhqlongarm.com/), I have a few friends that have them and they're all very happy with them. When I have the room and the money, a Bailey is what I'll be getting.
As far as the Mega Quilter, I had the 9" machine and didn't have anything but problems with it, finally said, give me my money back. I don't have any experience with the 18" Mega Quilter but I do agree, 9" isn't much space.
