Hi everyone.
This is my first time here & I am happy to be able to discuss my quilting concerns, I read the site daily & this is my very first quilt for me, I have some physical disabilities and I was told this is the easiest quilt to make
I am havng a really hard time trying to match squares up. Did the X thru all pieces(denim back, batting middle, & flannel/cotton) I was told by fabric store associate that for this quilt not to wash fabric first..Won't it shrink, I have about 140x7" squares & I need to make it "king size".
I sure could use some input any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I would not try to make a king size quilt for your 1st quilt. Try a lap or baby quilt 1st for a learn experience.

Very, very good advice and as far as getting all the squares completely the same, that comes with experience so check all your squares and choose the smallest. You said they are 7" if you have some that are smaller and uneven, square them up and cut them down to say, 6.75" I hope that is clearer than it reads :)

Hi and welcome from the sunny state of Florida!!
Just make sure to square up each of your blocks to the same size and you should be fine. I'd try making a smaller quilt for your first one also. But that being said, my first and second quilts were king size and they turned out fine, but I had my DM's help too! Good Luck and be sure to post a pic of the quilt when you're done!
