Hi folks
I am 70 now, and remembered all the years my mother sewing on her old singer foot peddled machine. When I was a kid, I loved machines and things that turned, and plunged, made whirling noise. That let me to becoming an aircraft mechanic for 48 years. I have two grand children, a boy 6 mo and a girl 5 yrs. I thought when I retired this past Feb 1st, 2011, that I would buy a sewing machine and make some cute jeans and things for the kids. So far I only made 4 silky boarded blankets for the 6 moth old boy. I now have a singer model 15-91 and a model 201-2. I have been looking at how cloths are made so I purchased a Kenmore serger 16644, made by Jerome. In addition I purchased a strong Pfaff Hobby model 1142. This week I had a industrial "Sailrite, Ultrafeed, LSZ 1. For sewing canvas and leather. I just sold on eBay a Brother PE-770 embroidery machine. It seam to take forever doing the different colors. Oh...I am writing a novel. www.vincejarcuri.writing.com Sincerely Vince J. Welcome and happy retirement!!

It was my duty to serve my country...I am proud to have served. It was the US Air Force that taught me jet aircraft maintenance, then I studied for and acquired my FAA license to work on commercial aircraft. I retired as a safety inspector.

My husband, who is a retired Naval Aviator, took a look at your old Air force picture and said that as a safety officer at one time he and others he has worked with would have had a cow about all those men being on the aircraft wing without head protection!!! LOL Times have changed!!!!
