Just saying hello from Epsom (where the Derby is held) if you are into horseracing. I am not, but hubby is a big fan of the "field". I would much rather be playing with fabric and cutting it up and putting it back together again and making a sandwich and then putting thread all over it.....or as he will say "You are really into this patchwork quiltwork thing aren't you!?" Well, it's just another form of addiction so I can't help it. If anyone knows a cure, please keep it to yourself!

Welcome welcome welcome

I am Melissa from Oklahoma, US. I had a school chum who spent 2 years of college in England on a foreign-exchange program. It's a wonderful place you have there.

We are all addicted. I think if anyone voiced a cure they may be kicked off the site! We are all here to quilt, have fun, and help eachother. It's also fun to meet people from all over the world that have the same hobby. This a great place to be.

Hi and welcome. I know about horseracing both types owned a few horse years ago my dad was a jockey back in the 40's and my father in law race stander bred. I use to excerise the horses and learned to drive a sulky when I got married. I love the sport but love quilting more beside too old to do that stuff now

Hi there, right on re the addiction, only cure is lack of money for fabric but then there are the 2nd hand stores for old bedspreads, sheets, jeans etc . My mom is famous for giving everyone blankets of squares from cast of jeans and cord pants accented with pretty heavy fabric remnants like upholstery samples etc. I live in Victoria on vancouver island in canada where we are celebrating a long weekend based on the nearest Monday to Queen Victoria's birthday.

Hi Nantucket Sue:
When I first saw your Intro I thought you were from NEW England...not England. I spent a couple years in NEW ENGLAND and loved it. I have not travelled abroad but I've been told that there aren't many fabric stores in some of the countries. Do you have trouble finding fabric or do you have to order all of it from somewhere else? I have the same addiction as everyone else on this site so I always wonder and worry what I'd do if fabric stores became a thing of the past. I'd go through withdrawal and curl up and die, I'm sure.

Welcome. Glad to have you join us.

Welcome I'm from Missouri. We all have been bit by the quilting bug and we don't want a cure. I've just really starting quilting this year and I know that I'm addicted. We would all love it if you would share some of your quilt pics with us.

A big hello and welcome from New Zealand. :) Is really good to meet some one from the home country. My Dad was born in Kent, served in the RAF during the war then immigrated to NZ in the 1950s.

You'll find lots of friendly helpful people here, there's lots to chat about and pictures of beautiful work to see. Don't forget to post your own pics, we all love to see pics of other peoples work.

We are all addicted to the same thing here, so guess you found your support group
