Hi Helen and welcome. I used to live in South Jersey (Haddonfield area near Cherry Hill) but am now in NC. I spent all my summers in Avalon at my grandparents house until I was around 20. We used to go to Cape May to look for "Cape May Diamonds" and to pick beach plums. Also we would go to see and band birds with my Dad. Wondered if the concrete ship is still there? Later my husband and I bought a little house in Ocean City, NJ. Oh how I miss the rea; Jersey shore!!!! I do believe that I have salt water in my veins rather than blood ..... sounds like you might too. Are you also a shellaholic like me? Again, welcome to the board.

Hi KLO,
I do have the Shore in my Veins too. We have a summer business, and I am lucky to be able to spend every other week on the beach. And when I am working days I usually take a sunset walk--it is just beautiful. I do collect shells but my favorite is sea glass (always wanted to make a quilt relating to shells and sea glass). I usually spend most of my time on the southern end of Stone Harbor (only a 4 mile drive from me) but meet up with girlfriends in Avalon at times. The concreate ship still is there but I remember seeing more of it when I was little. Plus I lived in Ocean City for a year when I was younger too. Thank You for the Warm Welcome, Helen
