Hello from Texas! I know what you mean about your friendly ripper. Seems like that's my most used tool in my sewing room. There are a lot of helpful quilters here & they are ready & willing to take you by the hand & lead you through this new found hobby. Can't wait to see pictures of your first quilt.

Welcome from Corpus Christi! My first quilt was literally sewing 4" squares together. One at a time. I've learned tons of tips and tricks since then, mostly here. Enjoy your new hobby!

Welcome from the Midwest. Yes, it can be relaxing as well as frustrating especially if you have to bring out your buddy Jack Ripper. Yes, he's my best friend too at times and my worse friend too. Had to bring him out the other day as I had the wrong block in my pile 3 times. Kept pulling out a similar block and didn't catch it, even though I was following my printout closely......obviously not close enough but it's done and I've moved on.

Good luck and we can't wait to see what you make. We're all here to push you along if you stumble and pat you on the back when you've finished a project. We've all been there and no question is a stupid question as someone else might have that same question but too scared to ask.
