I use paper to cut my squares until I got the right size that I needed

I wanted to make a 12 inch square to use for the supersize Shoo-fly block quilt
I cut an 18 inch square I got a little over 12 inch square triangles
That I trimmed to 12inches I got four out of that one block

I think someone on this group had posted how to do that awhile back, but still a good idea I think.

Yes, I remember that book. In fact, I think I have it.l I remember trying it on one set of strips. Too much futzy work IMHO.

Never seen this technique will have to try it have a Halloween charm pack maybe this would work out great with a solid color charm square paired with a print. Thanks for sharing the link
