1/4 square triangles from charm squares -- slick!
#11
I wanted to make a 12 inch square to use for the supersize Shoo-fly block quilt
I cut an 18 inch square I got a little over 12 inch square triangles
That I trimmed to 12inches I got four out of that one block

I just found the neatest tutorial about making 1/4 square triangles from charm squares (tho I would think it would work for any size square). Check it out!

I think someone on this group had posted how to do that awhile back, but still a good idea I think.

A while back there was a book that showed how to cut bias strips, sew together and then make hst out of this......Cannot remember who the author of book was....I did not like the idea myself, just thought it was too much work...easier to cut straight strips, use easy angle template and get hst and then sew....I guess there are many ways to do the same thing.
