Her applique quilt will be Baltimore Under the Sea. The lady has an awesome talent. If you ever get the chance to see any of her work don't miss it.

Sharon is a friend of my daughter. We were at Road2CA when Sharon's quilt won the $100K challenge. I had found a gorgeous threadpainted quilt and loved it. I kept trying to find it again to show my daughter. When I finally found it her comment (long-suffering and slightly snarky) "Mother, that's the back side of Sharon's quilt." It was, and I still loved it. When she appliques she used different thread for each element so the back of the quilt (she uses solid black a lot) is the most gorgeous thread painting you've ever seen.

that looks like felt or wool, and painted? Certainly a woman with lots of talent.

I've met her several times and had a class with her. She is so nice and very likable! And doesn't care if you touch her quilts, she will grap, twist and turn it so you can see it better. She said the last show winner was thrown in the corner or her studio and she wasn't going to finish it but her DH said it was too good not to finish. I saw a little of her applique at Paducah and all I could do was stare. LOL.

Oh that felting is wonderful! I watched a tutorial on how to do it with silk and was dying to try it. Seems you cannot find wool here in Huntsville

I use her method of applique with lightweight fusible on the back and its really given me confidence and enjoyment but I've never seen this side of her work! Incredible! Thanks for posting.

I love the name of the quilt and am continually amazed by the depth of color she gets in her dyed fabric - those motifs almost look 3D-ish.

I wonder if this is her new thing....block/album quilts.

I don't remember ever seeing the finished quilt from the blocks in this link - and they don't appear to be for the same quilt as the Sea blocks. Unless they were for classes or separate patterns for sale.

Has anyone seen it? Her website doesn't seem to be current.

That is the applique I saw in Paducah. I overheard someone say that was her practice applique pieces so she could perfect her skill. She posts pictures of her current work on Facebook more then her free website. Her paid membership website has all the detailed videos and classes.
