Default Burst Block

New tute from MSQC..with Rob Appel demoing a new template to make this block......looked a bit intense, but probably after one or two blocks it becomes logical... Anyone thinking of buying and trying?

I won't be trying that one. Quilts like that do strange things to my eyes. String quilts do the same.

I like it, but won't do it, don't need another ruler.

If someone wanted to make this but not have to get another ruler. It could easily be done by foundation paper piecing.

The ruler was well thought out...all the necessary marking lines were quite clear....the the quilt itself in the colors presented were a turn off for me. Maybe something more soothing would have been better, such as blue and cream. I'm curious how many of those templates they sell.

I think the quilt shown on the tute matches his personality.........
actually on Pinterest, I think, I have seen a very similar design idea using white background and scraps...soft and traditional looking...and I think F&P also has similar in one of their tutes/mags......done using pp..

He did this burst block a while back without using a template. Tried it and could not get it to work. Even created a foundation piecing and could not get it. I think I am dense when it comes to figuring things out. I think the template will help. I may buy the template because lately I have been making a lot of modern quilts
