this morning while doing my occassional cruise thru here at the Board, i read the post by Macybaby and was amazed by her recently finished quilt top titled "Catch Me If You Can".

Catch Me If You Can - top

she commented that she didn't use batiks & felt her quilt had turned out "fine". i agreed with her, of course since my first exposure to quilting with bursts of bright pulsating color was in the mid '80's when i first learned to quilt. in those days, a fairly new & rising star of the art quilt world was being featured in nearly every quilt mag i bought. over & over again. i found her fascinating ...then ...and now. i have never had any more desire to replicate her work, no more than i would a picasso painting. but i love looking at both -quilts by caryl bryer fallert-gentry or paintings by picasso.

here is a link to her gallery of quilts from the 70's to present .. early ones done before current fad of batik for everything bright & colorful

hope you enjoy the view
